***********************************************************

The Government announced today (May 30) that the Chief Executive, Mr C Y Leung, has re-appointed Mr Jack So Chak-kwong as Chairman of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (TDC) from October 1, 2014 until May 31, 2015 and has appointed Mr Vincent Lo Hong-sui as Chairman of the TDC from June 1, 2015 for two years.

"Mr So is an outstanding Chairman of the TDC and an excellent ambassador for Hong Kong. Under Mr So's able leadership, the TDC has successfully helped Hong Kong enterprises explore new business opportunities in the Mainland and other emerging markets, and launched numerous initiatives in the past few years to assist small and medium enterprises. Mr So's leadership is invaluable to see through the smooth implementation of the various initiatives in the coming year," Mr Leung said.

"Mr Lo also has wide global connections and is highly regarded as a top entrepreneur in the region. He has been Hong Kong's representative to the APEC Business Advisory Council since 2010. With Mr Lo's vast experience and his strong ties with the local, Mainland and international business communities, he would lead TDC ably in the global promotion of trade upon his assumption of Chairmanship in June 2015," Mr Leung added.

Mr Lo is the Chairman of the Shui On Group and has a distinguished track record in public service.
