The Transport Advisory Committee (TAC) was briefed by representatives from the Highways Department (HyD) on maintenance works on public road pavements in Hong Kong at its meeting today (May 27).
The TAC Chairman, Mr Larry Kwok, said Members noted the Administration's work in keeping Hong Kong's road network in a safe and serviceable condition through regular road inspections and timely corrective repairs, as well as planned maintenance.
"They also welcome HyD's efforts in suitably applying the use of thermal patcher and precast concrete panel to repair bituminous and concrete road pavement defects respectively, with a view to minimising the impacts of road maintenance on nearby residents and traffic," Mr Kwok said.
"We agree that HyD should continue to keep abreast of the latest technological developments and identify room for further improvement in undertaking road maintenance works."
