The Secretary for Food and Health, Dr Ko Wing-man, is in Geneva, Switzerland, today (May 19, Geneva time) attending the 67th World Health Assembly (WHA) of the World Health Organization as a member of the China delegation.
Accompanying Dr Ko to the WHA is the Director of Health, Dr Constance Chan.
Prior to the Assembly, Dr Ko met with the Vice Minister of the National Health and Family Planning Commission, Mr Wang Guoqiang, and the Chief of the Secretariat for Social Affairs and Culture of Macau, Ms Cecilia Cheung. They exchanged views on various health issues, including the latest situation of avian influenza A(H7N9) on the Mainland and relevant prevention and control measures as well as promotion on traditional medicine development.
Dr Ko will leave for Hong Kong tonight.
