EPD invites electric taxi suppliers to set up quick chargers at government car parks
************************************************************

The Environmental Protection Department (EPD) today (May 16) invited electric taxi suppliers to submit on or before June 16 proposals to set up quick chargers for electric taxis at six government car parks administered by the Transport Department under a pilot scheme for a period of three years.

The Chief Executive announced in the 2014 Policy Address plans to launch a pilot scheme to enable electric taxi suppliers to install quick chargers in the car parks administered by the Transport Department to facilitate expansion of the electric taxi fleet. This is part of the ongoing effort of the Government to promote wider use of electric vehicles, which have no tailpipe emissions, for better roadside air quality.

Interested electric taxi suppliers may visit the EPD website (www.epd.gov.hk/epd/english/environmentinhk/air/prob_solutions/promotion_ev.html) for more information on the invitation and the invitation document. Please call 2594 6372 for enquiries.
