Community thematic carnival Cantopop Mania to be held at Morse Park this Sunday (with photo)

     The Leisure and Cultural Services Department will hold the community thematic carnival Cantopop Mania at the Amphitheatre, Morse Park No. 4 in Wong Tai Sin this Sunday (May 18) from 3pm to 6pm. The concert is free of charge and will feature Cantopop songs from the 1960s to the 1990s sung by a collection of local pop singers and youth bands.

     Members of the public will also be enchanted by selected all-time favourites, with local folk and pop songs sung in different styles including a cappella and classical medley. There will also be popular theme songs from TV dramas and movies, in addition to big hits by superstars such as Anita Mui, Leslie Cheung and Danny Chan.

     Performers will include emerging singer Hoffman Cheng, Cantopop vocalist Li Lai-ha, folksinger John Lee and the bands Wondergarl, 3Think, The Flame, Music Twelve, Hong Kong Virtuoso Chorus and Wedne3day. The Rico Tsoi Dance Centre will also perform a-go-go in the concert to the accompaniment of golden oldies from the '60s and '70s.
