The Legislative Council (LegCo) Subcommittee on Matters Relating to Railways conducted a site visit today (April 28) to the construction site of the West Kowloon Terminus (WKT) of the Hong Kong Section of the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Express Rail Link (XRL) to better understand the progress before the Subcommittee meeting to be held next Monday (May 5).
Accompanied by the Chairman of the MTR Corporation Limited (MTRCL), Dr Raymond Ch'ien, and the Chief Executive Officer of the MTRCL, Mr Jay Walder, members of the Subcommittee visited the construction site of the WKT of the Hong Kong Section of the XRL and received a briefing from the representatives of the MTRCL on the latest progress of the works.
The Subcommittee will hold a meeting next Monday at 4.30pm in Conference Room 1 of LegCo Complex to discuss the latest position of the construction of the Hong Kong section of the XRL.
Members participating in the visit included the Chairman of the Subcommittee, Mr Michael Tien; the Deputy Chairman of the Subcommittee, Mr Chan Han-pan; and Mr Chan Kam-lam, Mr Wong Kwok-hing, Mr Paul Tse, Mr Leung Kwok-hung, Mr Frankie Yick, Mr Gary Fan, and Mr Tang Ka-piu, who are Subcommittee members, as well as Dr Helena Wong, who is non-Subcommittee member.
