The Legislative Council Panel on Environmental Affairs conducted a visit to the Chemical Waste Treatment Centre (CWTC) in Tsing Yi this afternoon (April 25) to better understand the operation and treatment processes of CWTC.
Members first received a briefing on the operation and treatment processes of CWTC. Accompanied by representatives of the Administration, Members then visited the facilities of CWTC, including the clinical waste and chemical waste reception centre and the central control room. Members also observed two waste treatment processes, namely incineration and mercury waste treatment.
Members participating in the visit included the Chairman of the Panel, Ms Cyd Ho, and Panel members Mr Gary Fan, Mr Kenneth Leung and Dr Elizabeth Quat.
