Stage 5 Kai Tak North Apron Area Infrastructure Works gazetted

     The Government published a notice in the Gazette today (April 17) on the Kai Tak Development - Infrastructure at North Apron Area of Kai Tak Airport - Stage 5 Infrastructure Works. The proposed works will provide part of the infrastructure necessary for serving the proposed government, institution or community facilities; comprehensive development area; and residential, commercial and other specified uses at the North Apron Area of the former Kai Tak Airport.

     The proposed works will not affect the Lung Tsun Stone Bridge remnants and a square well from the Song dynasty recently unearthed at the former North Apron Area which will be preserved in-situ. Both are being temporarily protected with backfilled materials and kept in a stable buried environment. Relevant Government departments will consider the most appropriate options on the future display of the above heritage items for separate consultation.

     The proposed works are set out in the Annex. The plans and scheme of the works are available for public inspection at the following government offices during office hours:

     Any person who wishes to object to the works or the use, or both, should write to the Secretary for Transport and Housing, 22/F, East Wing, Central Government Offices, 2 Tim Mei Avenue, Tamar, Hong Kong, on or before June 16, 2014.
