Proposed village sewerage works at Yeung Siu Hang, Tuen Mun, approved
************************************************************

The Chief Executive in Council has approved a scheme for the village sewerage works at Yeung Siu Hang, Tuen Mun.

The sewerage scheme comprises construction of about 1 300 metres of gravity sewers, associated manholes and ancillary works at the above-mentioned area. Construction works for the scheme are to be carried out by the Drainage Services Department.

"The scheme will provide a public sewerage system for collecting and conveying sewage from Yeung Siu Hang, Tuen Mun, for proper treatment and disposal. The scheme will help improve the sanitary conditions in the area and reduce the amount of pollutants being discharged into the Tuen Mun River," a spokesman for the Environmental Protection Department said.

Approval of the sewerage scheme was gazetted today (April 17).

Details of the sewerage scheme were published in the Government Gazette on April 26 and May 3, 2013.
