Service of Commandant of Hong Kong Auxiliary Police extended

     Approval has been given for the extension of service of the incumbent Commandant of Hong Kong Auxiliary Police Force (HKAPF), Mr Yiu Yeung-lung, for two years to April 14, 2016.

     A Police spokesman said today (April 15), "Mr Yiu's current term of office has been extended for two years in order to facilitate a smooth transition of the senior management of HKAPF."

     Mr Yiu first joined the HKAPF in June 1976 and was appointed as Commandant in September 2010. He is scheduled to retire upon reaching his retirement age of 60 on April 15, 2014.
