The Office for Film, Newspaper and Article Administration (OFNAA) today (April 12) announced the results of the 2013 Healthy Mobile Phone/Tablet Apps Nomination Activity, the 2013 Meritorious Websites Contest and the 5th Healthy Internet Video Contest. These programmes aim to promote the message of "Healthy Information, Healthy Mind" and remind youngsters to stay away from objectionable information.
The Healthy Mobile Phone/Tablet Apps Nomination Activity, with a view to encouraging the use of apps with healthy, practical and educational content, was conducted for the third time in 2013-14. During the nomination period, more than 1 800 nominations involving a total of 343 apps were received. Taking into consideration various criteria such as the promotion of the development of a healthy mind, educational value, practicality, creativity and value for money, the judging panel selected the following 10 winning apps:

3. Chinese History - the Flourishing Age

5. Learn ABC
6. Learning Japanese
7. McMug on Green Technology
8. Six Arts Fun App

The Meritorious Websites Contest was first held in 2000 and has now entered its 14th year. The theme of the programme is "Surf Smartly and Spend Time Wisely" and it aims to encourage website producers to develop healthy websites for young people. This year, around 100 nominations were received and nearly 20 000 participants cast their votes. The 10 winners of the 2013 Meritorious Websites Contest, which cover a wide range of topics including pronunciation of Cantonese, map search, public library services, education for students and children, environmental protection and scientific knowledge, are as follows:

The 5th Healthy Internet Video Contest was co-organised by OFNAA and the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups. The programme aims to encourage healthy and responsible online behaviour among young people and to educate them to stay away from harmful online materials.
With a total of 78 entries (including 56 school entries and 22 public entries) competing for the awards of Best Video, Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Actor/Actress and Best Visual Effects, the 5th Healthy Internet Video Contest has been well-received. The winning entries for Best Video selected by an adjudication panel are as follows:
