Approved Tai Po Outline Zoning Plan amended

     The Town Planning Board today (April 11) announced amendments to the approved Tai Po Outline Zoning Plan (OZP).

     The amendments involve the rezoning of a site at Tai Po Area 9 and the eastern portion of Chung Nga Road and a site at the western portion of Chung Nga Road from "Green Belt" ("GB") and "Government, Institution or Community" ("G/IC") to "Residential (Group A)9" ("R(A)9") to facilitate public housing development; revising the building height restriction for a site within the "G/IC" zone of Hong Chi Pinehill Village from four storeys to eight storeys to facilitate redevelopment of the Integrated Vocational Training Centre; rezoning of a site to the west of Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital from "GB" to "R(A)10" to facilitate private housing development; rezoning of a site near Fung Yuen from "GB" and "G/IC" to "Residential (Group C)10" ("R(C)10") to facilitate private housing development; rezoning of a site at Lo Fai Road from "GB" to "R(C)9" to facilitate private housing development; rezoning of a site at Lai Chi Shan from "GB" to "Residential (Group B)8" ("R(B)8") to facilitate private housing development; rezoning of a site near Yat Yiu Avenue from "R(C)" to "R(C)7" to facilitate private housing development; rezoning of a site at Kon Hang from "GB" to "R(C)8" to facilitate private housing development and rezoning of a site at Po Heung Street from "G/IC" to "G/IC(2)" to facilitate its redevelopment into a youth hostel cum youth centre. The Notes of the Plan are also amended to reflect the sub-areas of "R(A)9", "R(A)10", "R(B)8", "R(C)7", "R(C)8", "R(C)9" and "R(C)10" with stipulation of plot ratio or gross floor area (GFA) and building height restrictions, and a new zone, namely "G/IC(2)" with stipulation of GFA and building height restrictions.

     The draft Tai Po OZP No. S/TP/25, incorporating the amendments, is now available for public inspection during office hours at the Secretariat of the Board; the Planning Enquiry Counters of the Planning Department in North Point and Sha Tin; the Sha Tin, Tai Po and North District Planning Office; the Tai Po District Office; and the Tai Po Rural Committee.

     Any person may make written representation in respect of the amendments to the Secretary of the Board on or before June 11. Representations made to the Board will be available for public inspection.

     Copies of the draft Tai Po OZP are available for sale at the Map Publications Centres in North Point and Yau Ma Tei. The electronic version of the OZP can be viewed at the Board's website at www.info.gov.hk/tpb/.
