Transcript of remarks by CE at media session (with video)
*********************************************************

Following is the transcript of remarks by the Chief Executive, Mr C Y Leung, at a media session before the Executive Council meeting today (April 8):

Reporter: Chief Executive, Professor Rao Geping made the comment that Hong Kong should adopt Mainland national security laws until it implements its own. A lot of people have rejected his opinion. What do you think about?

Chief Executive: Professor Rao has clarified report on his comments. I don't have any further remarks to offer.

Reporter: And regarding the Shanghai trip ... be arranging a separate meeting?

Chief Executive: Sorry, I missed a few words.

Reporter: Regarding the Shanghai trip this weekend, will you be arranging a separate meeting for the democrats?

Chief Executive: Well, we have passed on the request of members of the Legislative Council (LegCo) to officials from the Central Authorities who will be attending the Shanghai meeting. They have taken note of their request. I think the key thing is to grab all the opportunities, and this is the first opportunity since the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region for all members of the Legislative Council to meet the Director of the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office. So if everyone of the Legislative Council could make the best use of this opportunity, and as this is, as I said, the first opportunity and hopefully this is not the last, I am sure it'll pave a good way for LegCo and the Central Authorities to continue useful and constructive dialogue. Thank you.
