Fifteen building plans approved in February

     The Buildings Department approved 15 building plans in February, with three on Hong Kong Island, four in Kowloon and eight in the New Territories.

     Of the approved plans, seven were for apartment and apartment/commercial developments, one was for commercial developments, three were for factory and industrial developments and four were for community services developments.

     In the same month, consent was given for work to start on six building projects that, when completed, will provide 13 219 square metres of gross floor area for domestic use, involving 319 units, and 64 323 sq m of gross floor area for non-domestic use. The department has received notification of commencement of work for nine building projects.

     The department also issued six occupation permits, with two on Hong Kong Island, one in Kowloon and three in the New Territories.

     Of the buildings certified for occupation, the gross floor area for domestic use was 2 208 sq m, involving five units, and 24 048 sq m was for non-domestic use.

     The declared cost of new buildings completed in February totalled about $0.44 billion.

     In addition, five demolition consents involving five building structures were issued.

     The department received 2 443 reports about unauthorised building works in February, and issued 586 removal orders on unauthorised works.
