The Legislative Council (LegCo) Secretariat announced that starting from tomorrow (April 1), the provision of simultaneous Putonghua (SP) interpretation service will be extended to all Council and its committee meetings.
The LegCo Secretariat has since October 2013 provided SP interpretation service for Council meetings and meetings of the House Committee, the Finance Committee, the Establishment Subcommittee and the Public Works Subcommittee. To enable the public to understand the work and the proceedings of the Council and all its committees, the Legislative Council Commission has decided to extend the provision of SP interpretation service to all other committee meetings from April this year.
With the full implementation of SP interpretation service, members of the public may choose to listen to Putonghua interpretation, in addition to floor, Cantonese and English options, while observing or listening to Council and committee meetings.
