Police are investigating an assaulting Police officers and Police open fire case in Chai Wan last night (March 28).
About 3.10pm yesterday, Police received a report that suspicious persons were found at Shek O Beach. Police officers conducted an investigation at scene. About 9.15pm, Police officers found three suspicious persons near the hillside. When Police officers attempted to intercept the suspicious persons, they were attacked by the suspicious persons with stones. Police officers gave verbal warnings to the suspects but in vain. One officer fired two shots.
All suspects fled from the scene.
Initial investigation found that the shots did not hit anyone.
One officer sustained leg injuries when being attacked.
Investigations by the District Crime Squad of Eastern District are underway.
