PMH makes appeal on recent suspected cases of doctor impersonation

The following is issued on behalf of the Hospital Authority:

     Regarding two recent suspected cases of doctor impersonation, a spokesperson for the Princess Margaret Hospital (PMH) made the following appeal today (March 28):

     The Patient Relations Office of PMH received enquires from patients' relatives on March 19 and March 27 respectively, indicating that they received phone calls who claimed themselves PMH doctors and enquired private information of the patients' relatives.  After investigation, it is found that no PMH doctors have contacted the two patients' relatives. The hospital is very concerned of the incident and has reported the incident to the Police today. The hospital would provide assistance to facilitate the Police's investigation.

     The hospital appeals to the public to seek help from the Police if encountering similar suspected case of doctor impersonation.
