Appointment of members to Fight Crime Committee

     The Government today (March 28) announced the appointment of Mr Poon Siu-ping and Mr Fong Ping as members of the Fight Crime Committee for a term of two years, and the re-appointment of six incumbents, namely Mr Wilfred Ng Sau-kei, Ms Wong Mee-chun, Mr Yeung Yiu-chung, Mr Jeffrey Lam Kin-fung, Mr Kwok Wing-keung and Mr Richard Tang Yat-sun for a further term of two years. These appointments were made by the Chief Secretary for Administration and will take effect from April 1, 2014.

     The Chief Secretary for Administration, Chairperson of the Fight Crime Committee, expressed her appreciation to the two outgoing members, namely Mr Edgar Kwan Chi-ping and Ms Li Fung-ying, for their valuable contributions to the work of the Committee.

     The Fight Crime Committee is responsible for drawing up plans to reduce crime, co-ordinating efforts in fighting crime and monitoring the results, and determining ways in which the public can be encouraged to contribute to the fight against crime.
