The Government announced today (March 28) the re-appointment of two serving members and the appointment of a new member to the Hospital Authority, with effect from April 1, 2014.
Professor Francis Chan Ka-leung is re-appointed for two years, and Dr Li Chi-kong for one year. The new member is Ms Anita Cheng Wai-ching. She is appointed for two years. Following is a brief biography of Ms Cheng:
Ms Cheng is the Chief Executive Officer of a marketing, brand building and event management company. She was the Director of Public Affairs of Lingnan University and a member of the Appeal Panel (Housing) and the Committee on Information Technology Training and Development of the Vocational Training Council.
The Secretary for Food and Health, Dr Ko Wing-man, welcomed Ms Cheng to the Hospital Authority. He also thanked Ms Lau Ka-shi, who will retire from the Hospital Authority with effect from April 1, for her advice and contribution to the Hospital Authority over the years.
The Hospital Authority, as from April 1, 2014, will comprise a chairman, 23 non-official members, three public officers and one principal officer from the Hospital Authority. The new membership list is as follows:
