Following is the transcript of remarks by the Chief Executive, Mr C Y Leung, at a media session at the ground floor lobby of the Office of the Chief Executive this morning (March 27):
Reporter: Sir, can you talk about the progress of planning for the trip to Shanghai ...?
Chief Executive: We received a response, a rather positive response, from the Central Authorities on the combined proposals of members of Legislative Council (LegCo), as passed on to us by the President of Legislative Council. And therefore this morning I held a meeting with the President, passing on to him the feedback of the Central Authorities. Essentially, there will be visits, there will be seminars and, more importantly, we have set aside half a day for members of the Legislative Council to sit down with Central Authority officials to cover a range of subjects including, obviously, political reform 2017, and also include the many subjects in the interface between Hong Kong and the Mainland, which many LegCo members have expressed concern about.
