****************************************************

The Chief Executive, Mr C Y Leung, met the visiting Prime Minister of New Zealand, Mr John Key, at Government House this morning (March 21) to exchange views on issues of mutual concern.

Mr Leung said that Hong Kong and New Zealand enjoy close economic and trade ties and both sides share common beliefs on promoting free trade. He said that the Hong Kong, China - New Zealand Closer Economic Partnership Agreement, which came into force in 2011, has promoted trade in goods and services between the two places and opened up numerous business opportunities.

Mr Leung encouraged enterprises from New Zealand to develop business in Hong Kong to make use of the city's connections to further explore the business opportunities in the Mainland.
