Police will implement the following special traffic arrangements from tomorrow (March 22) to March 23 in East Kowloon to facilitate the holding of a marathon event.
Phase I (from 6.30am to 11.30am on March 23):
A. Road closure
- The unnamed road leading to the proposed Runway Park;
- Cheung Yip Street car park;
- Southbound Cheung Yip Street between Sheung Yee Road and Hoi Bun Road;
- Hung Yip Street;
- Eastbound Hoi Bun Road between Cheung Yip Street and Shun Yip Street;
- Westbound Hoi Bun Road between Kai Hing Road and Shun Yip Street;
- Siu Yip Street between Wai Yip Street and Tai Yip Street;
- Sheung Yee Road at grade between Wai Yip Street and Wang Hoi Road;
- Sheung Yuet Road between Wai Yip Street and Wang Hoi Road; and
- Southbound Wang Hoi Road between Wang Yuen Street and Sheung Yee Road.
B. Traffic diversions
- Lam Chak Street will be converted to one-way eastbound;
- Kai Hing Road will be converted to one-way northbound;
- Vehicles along northbound Cheung Yip Street cannot turn right to Hoi Bun Road;
- Vehicles along southbound Wai Yip Street cannot turn left to Siu Yip Street;
- Vehicles along Tai Yip Street cannot turn to westbound Siu Yip Street;
- Vehicles along northbound Wai Yip Street cannot turn left to Sheung Yee Road and Sheung Yuet Road;
- Vehicles along southbound Wang Hoi Road cannot turn left to Sheung Yuet Road;
- Vehicles along eastbound Wang Yuet Street cannot turn right to Wang Hoi Road;
- Vehicles along southbound Wang Chiu Road will be diverted to northbound Cheung Yip Street;
- Vehicles along northbound Hoi Bun Road will be diverted to Shun Yip Street;
- Vehicles along southbound Wai Yip Street heading to Siu Yip Street will be diverted via northbound Tai Yip Street;
- Vehicles along northbound Wai Yip Street heading to Kowloon Bay Business Area will be diverted via westbound Kai Cheung Road and southbound Wang Chiu Road;
- Vehicles along eastbound Sheung Yee Road at grade and eastbound Sheung Yuet Road heading to Choi Hung Interchange and Telford Gardens will be diverted via northbound Wang Chiu Road and eastbound Kai Cheung Road; and
- Vehicles from southbound Wang Hoi Road heading to Choi Hung Interchange will be diverted via westbound Wang Yuen Street, southbound Wang Mau Street, eastbound Sheung Yee Road, northbound Wang Hoi Road, westbound Lam Hing Street, northbound Wang Kwong Road, eastbound Kai Cheung Road, and to northbound Kwun Tong Road.
Phase II (from 6.30am to 10.30am on March 23):
A. Road closure
- Hoi Bun Road between Shun Yip Street and Tsun Yip Street;
- Shun Yip Street between Hoi Bun Road and Wai Yip Street;
- Lai Yip Street between Hoi Bun Road and Wai Yip Street; and
- How Ming Street between Hoi Bun Road and Wai Yip Street.
B. Traffic diversions
- Vehicles along northbound Wai Yip Street cannot turn left to westbound How Ming Street and westbound Lai Yip Street;
- Vehicles along westbound Lai Yip Street heading Kowloon Bay will be diverted to northbound Wai Yip Street; and
- Vehicles along Kei Yip Street will be diverted to Tsun Yip Street.
Phase III (from 7.45am to 9.15am on March 23):
A. Road closure
- Shing Fung Road;
- The unnamed road connecting Shing Fung Road and Shung Cheong Road;
- Shing Cheong Road; and
- Cheung Yip Street between Lam Chak Street and Shing Cheong Road.
Goods vehicle parking spaces at Lam Chak Street and Hoi Bun Road will be suspended from 8pm on March 22 to 11.30am on March 23. Metered parking spaces and motorcycle parking spaces at Cheung Yip Street, and metered parking spaces and disabled parking space on Hoi Bun Road will be suspended from 9pm on March 22 to 11.30am on March 23.
Actual implementation of the above traffic arrangements will be made by Police officers at the time depending on traffic condition.
