LCSD to present variety of new shows in "Dance x Multimedia" series
************************************************************

The Leisure and Cultural Services Department's "Dance x Multimedia" series will present a variety of brand new dance and multimedia programmes from April to July.

Local dance group Unlock Dancing Plaza will open the series with its new production, titled "Wanderer". Performing on a movable 7-metre diameter circular stage with gravity as their ally and enemy, four dancers will tumble and stumble their way to portraying life's motions and emotions.

"Wanderer"
Studio Theatre, Hong Kong Cultural Centre
April 25 to 27 (Friday to Sunday)
Tickets: $220

Taiwan's Anarchy Dance Theatre and the interactive and new media design studio Ultra Combos will stage a multimedia production titled "Seventh Sense". Motion-detection and projection-mapping will create a high-tech space that will interact with the dance movements. Members of the audience will not merely watch the astonishing visual effects but actively participate in the boundless physical-digital environment of this stunning experience.

"Scattered", by the UK-based dance theatre group Motionhouse, will explore the relationship between human beings and water, and how water surrounds us in different forms throughout our lives. To be performed on a huge curved floor that will disappear skywards, "Scattered" will use projection technology and daring dancing, plus aerial harnesses and bungees, to create an extraordinary world in which dancers move seamlessly in, on and through images.

A brand new performance comprising a digital fusion of dance, music and light, "Codes 2.0" by Irish art group MIDASpaces will follow man's evolving relationship with technology - our addiction, dependence and struggle to adapt in an ever chaotic world.
