Special traffic arrangements in New Territories during Ching Ming Festival

     Police will implement special traffic arrangements in New Territories from March 15 to April 27 to facilitate vehicular traffic and pedestrian movements during Ching Ming Festival.

New Territories North
---------------------

I. Sandy Ridge

     Sandy Ridge Frontier Closed Area will be opened to grave-sweepers between 6am and 6pm until between March 15 April 13. Vehicles without Closed Road Permit will not be allowed to enter the closed area.

     Between 6am and 6pm on March 29 and 30, April 5, 6, 12 and 13, Lo Wu Station Road from its junction with Man Kam To Road to a point of about 280 metres west near the cemetery management office will be closed to all vehicular traffic, except for emergency vehicles, vehicles of Lo Wu Village residents with Closed Road Permit and vehicles with Closed Road Permit allowed to park at the car park of MTR Lo Wu Station.

II. Tuen Mun

     The following traffic arrangements will be implemented between 7am and 7pm on March 15, 16, 22, 23, 29 and 30, April 5, 6, 12, 13, 18, 19, 20, 21, 26 and 27:
- Tsing San Path and the access roads leading to Ching Chung Koon and Ching Chung Sin Yuen will be closed, except for emergency vehicles;
- Tsing Chung Koon Road between Tsing Lun Road and San Fuk Road will be converted to one-way northbound;
- San Fuk Road between Leung Shun Street and Tsing Chun Koon Road will be converted to one-way westbound; and
- two temporary pick up and drop off points will be provided at westbound Tsing Lun Road outside Tuen Mun Hospital and northbound Tsing Chung Koon Road opposite to Tuen Mun Hospital.

New Territories South
---------------------

I. Sha Tin

     The following roads will be closed between 7am and 6pm on March 16, 22, 23, 29 and 30, April 5, 6, 12, 13, 18, 19, 20 and 21:
- Lower Shing Mun Road between Yau On Street and Fu Shan Crematorium, except for hearses, funeral vehicles, green minibus (GMB) route 64K and emergency vehicles; and
- a section of Pai Tau Street west of its junction with Sheung Wo Che Road, except for emergency vehicles.

II. Tsuen Wan

     Lo Wai Road between Lo Wai Pai Lau and Yuen Yuen Institute (YYI) will be closed, except for GMBs, taxis, emergency vehicles and vehicles with permit, between 8am and 5pm on March 23, 29 and 30, April 5, 6 and 13.

     During the above road closure, all metered parking spaces outside YYI, near Lo Wai old bus terminus and at Lo Wai Road near Yi Pei Chun Road will be suspended. These metered parking spaces will also be suspended from 9am to 5pm on March 16 and 22, April 12, 18, 19, 20 and 21.

III. Kwai Tsing

     Wing Yin Street and Wing Hau Street will be closed to all vehicular traffic, except for hearses, franchised buses and emergency vehicles, from 7am to 5pm on March 16, 22 and 29, April 12, 18, 19, 20 and 21.

     The following traffic arrangements will be implemented on March 23 and 30, April 5, 6 and 13:

- Southbound Wing Tak Street, Wing Yin Street and a section of Wing Shun Street between Wing Tak Street and Kwai Hei Street will be closed to all vehicles, except for hearses, franchised buses and emergency vehicles, from 7am to 5pm and on any other dates if necessary;
- A section of Wing Kei Road between Kwai Hei Street and Wing Kin Road will be converted to one-way southbound. Vehicles will only be allowed to enter Wing Kei Road via Wing Kin Road; and
- Wing Chong Street, Wing Hau Street and Wing Lap Street will be closed to all vehicles, except for emergency vehicles.

     Vehicles parked illegally near the above areas may be towed away without prior notice.

     Actual implementation of road closure and traffic diversion will be made by the Police at the time depending on conditions in the areas.
