EPD to hold Carnival for Vehicle Emission Reduction
***************************************************

The Environmental Protection Department (EPD) will hold the "Carnival for Vehicle Emission Reduction" tomorrow (March 15) at the Piazza Area A&B, Hong Kong Cultural Centre in Tsim Sha Tsui. Members of the public are invited to join.

Featuring game booths in an interesting and interactive way under a variety of themes such as "Fight Against Emissions Together", "Let's Drive Smartly" and "Better Maintain Our Cars", the carnival offers visitors the chance to learn more about vehicle emissions reduction, good driving habits and the importance of vehicle maintenance. Winners of the games will receive prizes. Other games include "To Live Green" and "Renewable Energy".

Vehicle emissions are the main source of roadside air pollution, so to improve roadside air quality the EPD has been introducing various measures to reduce such emissions. Some of these measures, such as advanced emission testing equipment, will be exhibited at the carnival, while related promotional videos will also be shown. Leaflets will be distributed to remind the public to be environmentally aware drivers. Variety shows will also take place at the carnival and every visitor will receive a souvenir.

The carnival will be held from 11.30am to 5pm tomorrow. Admission is free.
