Donor centres extend service hours to serve amid low blood inventory
***********************************************************

The following is issued on behalf of the Hospital Authority:

In view of the recent rising demand for blood transfusion in hospitals, the Hong Kong Red Cross Blood Transfusion Service (BTS) will extend the service hours of its donor centres starting from tomorrow (March 14) to March 23 (Sunday) in order to facilitate blood donation by members of the public. The service hours during the above period are as follows:
Ć
- Mongkok Donor Centre: 11am to 10pm
- Kwun Tong Donor Centre, Central District Donor Centre (except Sunday, when it will be closed), Causeway Bay Donor Centre, Shatin Donor Centre, Tsuen Wan Donor Centre and Yuen Long Donor Centre: 11am to 8pm

The service hours of Headquarters Donor Centre remain unchanged. In an attempt to replenish the blood stocks to normal levels and cope with the persistent high blood demand, the BTS sincerely invites the public to make time for blood donation as soon as possible, so that it can collect at least 1 200 units of blood daily in the next fortnight.

For the locations of donor centres, please call 2710 1234 or visit the BTS website www.ha.org.hk/rcbts .

     Please act now!
