Following is the transcript of remarks by the Chief Executive, Mr C Y Leung, at a media session at the ground floor lobby of the Office of the Chief Executive today (March 12):
I'll try to do some quick translation. Members of the Legislative Council have always expressed a wish to visit the Mainland, and I have expressed my support and I undertook to pass this message onto the Central Authorities and to win the support of the Central Authorities. I have just received notice from the Central Authorities that they agreed to my proposal, and to make arrangements for all members of Legislative Council to visit Shanghai. The delegation will be led by the President of Legislative Council, and I shall join them in Shanghai. I shall fly direct from Boao, where I shall attend the Boao Forum. The date will be the 12th and the 13th of April. Members of the Legislative Council will visit Shanghai and they'll also join a seminar. I shall join them at part or some of the activities.
