Wounding case in Sha Tin reclassified as murder

     Police reclassified a wounding case happened in Sha Tin on March 3 as murder.

     At about 8.20pm that day, Police received a report that a man and a woman were injured and collapsed in a unit in Lek Yuen Estate, Sha Tin. Police sped to the scene and located a 58-year-old man and a 50-year-old woman lying on the floor. They were rushed to Prince of Wales Hospital for medical treatment and were arrested for wounding. The man was later certified dead at 7.35am on March 8. A post-mortem examination will be conducted to ascertain the cause of his death.

     Police reclassified the case as murder on March 8 and re-arrested the 50-year-old woman in suspected connection with the case. She appeared before Sha Tin Magistrates' Courts today (March 10).

     Active investigations by the District Crime Squad of Sha Tin District are underway.
