Contractor fined for violation of safety rules

Hop Fat Yuk Ying Engineering Limited was fined $150,000 at Shatin Magistrates' Courts today (February 27) for violation of the Construction Sites (Safety) Regulations. The prosecutions were launched by the Labour Department.
The case involved a fatal accident that occurred on April 14, 2012 in Tai Po, in which a worker fell to his death from the 11/F to the 3/F after a floor opened at a building under construction.
