The Chief Executive, Mr C Y Leung, met the visiting Governor of Heilongjiang Province, Mr Lu Hao, at Government House this afternoon (February 25) to exchange views on issues of mutual concern.
Mr Leung said that Heilongjiang possesses great development potential in commerce and trade and Hong Kong has established a close working relationship with Heilongjiang over the years. Mr Leung pointed out that Hong Kong has accumulated a wealth of knowledge and talents in service industries. Hong Kong could share its experience with Heilongjiang in taking forward the development of modern service industries and assist Heilongjiang enterprises in expanding their businesses globally through upgrading and restructuring.
Mr Leung also said he hopes that Hong Kong and Heilongjiang could make use of the opportunities brought about by the Mainland and Hong Kong Closer Economic Partnership Arrangement to continue to deepen the exchanges in trade between the two places.
