The Civil Aid Service (CAS) Band Review-cum-Motor Cycle Demonstration Team (MCDT) 50th Anniversary Show was held at the drill ground of the CAS Headquarters today (February 23). The event was officiated by the President of the Legislative Council, Mr Jasper Tsang. In addition to members and cadets of the CAS, representatives of various government departments, youth uniformed groups and guests from the Mainland were also invited to the event.
The splendid show was composed of more than 100 members from the CAS Band and the MCDT. The fabulous programme, including the Band's performance of touching musical works from the East and the West, a stately march and a motorcycle stunt show, offered the audience impressive and exciting audio-visual entertainment.
The CAS Band is a well-established marching band that has been giving performances in various large events over the years. The MCDT was formed in the early 1960s to strengthen the driving skills of motorcycle messengers and increase operational efficiency. Throughout the years, the MCDT has continuously enhanced its driving skills and performance technique by adding new elements including seesaw, dragon dance and clown bike displays to the show.
