The Yau Tsim Mong District Ethnic Cultural Show 2014 will be staged at Kowloon Park Piazza, Tsim Sha Tsui from noon to 6pm on Sunday (February 16), showcasing a variety of ethnic performances for the public to experience the diverse art and culture of these ethnic groups.
The ceremony of the show will start at 3pm. In addition to the many performances, visitors can also enjoy dragon and lion dances, acrobatics and face-changing, and can participate in booth games, handicraft-making and lucky draws. There will also be photo opportunities with people wearing unique national costumes.
The event is co-organised by the Working Group on Ethnic Affairs of Yau Tsim Mong District Council (the working group) and Yau Tsim Mong South Area Committee, and sponsored by the Yau Tsim Mong District Council, with assistance from the Yau Tsim Mong District Office.
With a view to promoting racial harmony, mutual communication and understanding of ethnic minorities in Yau Tsim Mong District, the working group has maintained close contact with various ethnic organisations, providing a variety of activities for the participation of local residents of different ethnic origins.
