Police are investigating a traffic accident in Tuen Mun this morning (February 13) in which a 19-year-old woman was killed.
At about 6.25 am, a public bus driven by a 69-year-old man was travelling along Tuen Mun Heung Sze Wui Road towards Yuen Long. When turning right into Pui To Road, it reportedly knocked down the 19-year-old woman and a 24-year-old man who were crossing the road.
Sustaining serious injuries to her head, the woman in an unconscious state was rushed to Tuen Mun Hospital where she was certified dead at 6.48am. The man who suffered head and leg injuries was also conveyed to the hospital.
The driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death and is being detained for enquiries.
Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories North are underway.
