Contractor fined for violation of safety rules

Hongan Construction Company Limited was fined $80,000 at Eastern Magistrates' Courts today (February 10) for violation of the Construction Sites (Safety) Regulations. The prosecution was launched by the Labour Department.
The case involved a fatal accident that occurred at a renovation site in Causeway Bay on December 24, 2012, in which a worker plunged about six metres to his death while working on a working platform.
