Police appeal to the public for information on the body of a newborn baby girl found in North Point this afternoon (January 26).
About 12.50pm, a cleaning worker made a report to Police that a baby body was found inside a black recycle bag in a public toilet cubicle at the junction of Tong Shui Road and Java Road.
Police officers sped to the scene and located the baby body inside the black recycle bag. The baby was wrapped in yellow clothing and a pink towel.
Initial examination revealed that the body, with its umbilical cord attached, was a newborn girl.
A post-mortem examination will be conducted later to ascertain the cause of death.
Investigations by the District Crime Squad of Eastern District are underway.
Police appeal to next-of-kin of the baby girl and anyone who may have information to offer to contact the investigating officers on 2880 4363 or 6148 0075.
