Police today (January 24) appealed for information on a fatal traffic accident in Hung Hom on January 18 in which an 85-year-old woman died.
About 8.10am on that day, a light goods vehicle driven by a 45-year-old man was travelling along westbound Ma Tau Wai Road. When approaching the junction of Ma Tau Wai Road and Pau Chung Street, it reportedly knocked down the 85-year-old woman who was crossing the road.
Sustaining serious head and left leg injuries, the woman was rushed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in unconscious state where she was certified dead at 11.21pm on January 19.
Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon West are underway.
