*********************************************************

The 3rd Inno-Action! HKBU Academy of Film Seeds Project, jointly organised by the Government Youth Portal (Youth.gov.hk) and the Academy of Film, School of Communication, Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU), was officially launched today (January 18). The Seeds Project aims at enhancing the creative ability, aesthetic appreciation and artistic knowledge of secondary school students. It also enables them to understand the film industry and provides them with a platform for interaction and exchange.

Officiating at the ceremony were the Executive Director of Youth.gov.hk, Efficiency Unit, Mr Hui Cheuk-chun, and the Director of the Academy of Film, School of Communication, HKBU, Professor Cheuk Pak-tong. A Classic Film Appreciation and Sharing event was held on the same day, with the honour of having the director, scriptwriter and actor of "The Private Eyes", Mr Michael Hui, and cross-media veteran Mr Lam Chiu-wing as speakers. They enjoyed the 1970s classic film "The Private Eyes" with participating students and shared their valuable experience in the industry.

The first Seeds Project was launched in 2011, and the project has been sponsored by Create Hong Kong since then. The third Seeds Project will last for about seven months. The activities will include a series of film appreciation and sharing sessions, interactive workshops, a competition and tertiary experience events. Along with the launch of the Seeds Project, the Digital Short Video Competition is now open for application, with a deadline of April 30.
