In response to press enquiries regarding the Police investigation into a wounding case in which an Indonesian domestic helper claimed to have been abused by her employer, Police issued the following statement today (January 17):
Police attach great importance to the case. Thorough investigation by Kwun Tong District Crime Squad is underway. Police will meet with all parties who can provide information on the case and also appeal to anyone who has information on the case to contact us at 3661 1622.
Police officers met with representatives of Indonesian Consulate in Hong Kong regarding the case on January 15 and will continue to maintain a close liaison with the Consulate.
We have raised our request, through INTERPOL, to the Indonesian Police for sending our officers to Indonesia as soon as possible in order to conduct further investigation in the case together with the Indonesian Police. The detailed arrangement is being considered.
