The Chief Executive in Council has approved a scheme for "Part of Port Shelter Sewerage, Stage 3, Sewerage at Tai Po Tsai".
The sewerage scheme comprises construction of about 2 900 metres of gravity sewer and associated manholes and other ancillary works at the above-mentioned unsewered area. Construction works for the scheme are to be carried out by the Drainage Services Department.
A spokesman for the Environmental Protection Department said, "The sewerage scheme will provide a public sewerage system for collecting and conveying sewage from Tai Po Tsai for proper treatment and disposal. The scheme will help improve the sanitary conditions in the area and reduce the amount of pollutants flowing into Port Shelter."
Approval of the sewerage scheme was gazetted today (January 17).
Details of the sewerage scheme were published in the Government Gazette on December 7 and 14, 2012.
