The following is issued on behalf of the Judiciary:
The Judiciary today (January 14) announced the appointment of Mr Alex Ng Siu-lam as Member of the Lands Tribunal. The appointment will take effect from January 15, 2014.
The appointment is made by the Chief Executive on the recommendation of the Judicial Officers Recommendation Commission.
Further judicial appointments will be announced in due course.
The biographical note of Mr Ng is as follows:
Mr Alex Ng Siu-lam was born in Hong Kong in 1963. He obtained a Professional Diploma in Estate Management from the then Hong Kong Polytechnic in 1986. He was elected a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and a Member of the Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors in 1992 and 1994 respectively. He became a Registered Professional Surveyor in General Practice Division of the Surveyors Registration Board in Hong Kong in 1994. He became a Member of the China Institute of Real Estate Appraisers in 2004. He has been in private practice in surveying since 1994.
