Sick remand person in custody dies in public hospital

A sick remand person in custody from Lai Chi Kok Reception Centre died in a public hospital today (January 11).
The 77-year-old male remand person in custody was sent to public hospital for treatment on January 1 because of illness. He was certified dead at 5.01pm today.
The case has been reported to the Police. A death inquest will be held by the Coroner's Court.
The man was remanded for an offence of trafficking in dangerous drugs.
