Following is the transcript of remarks made by the Secretary for Home Affairs, Mr Tsang Tak-sing, after attending the briefing for the "Bless Hong Kong" Campaign today (January 7):

Reporter: Are you worried that the match-fixing allegations will affect the industry's reputation? Will the Government put a halt to Project Phoenix?

Secretary for Home Affairs: Since the ICAC is already investigating the case, I don't think it is right for me to comment on actual specific cases.

Reporter: Are you worried that they will ruin the reputation of local football?

Secretary for Home Affairs: As I mentioned, I do think the soccer circles need to engage the public and to build up the public's confidence in the development of soccer sports in Hong Kong. As you see, like recently we opened the Velodrome in Sai Kung which is quite an intensive bit of investment in sports in Hong Kong. People in the community generally support to devote resources to support the development of cycling in Hong Kong because we can see that we do produce very good sportsmen not only in the level of sports but in the sportsmanship.
