Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Sai Kung today (January 3) in which an 87-year-old woman died.
About 8.30am, a public light bus (PLB) driven by a 61-year-old man was travelling along Po Tung Road towards Sai Kung. When approaching Man Nin Street, it reportedly knocked down the 87-year-old woman who was crossing the road.
Sustaining serious head injuries, the woman was rushed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital where she was certified dead at 12.08pm.
Investigations will be conducted by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon East.
Anyone who witnessed the accident or has any information to offer is urged to contact the investigating officers on 2305 7500.
