The Hong Kong Red Cross Blood Transfusion Service (BTS) today (January 3) appealed to members of the public whose blood type is O-positive to roll up their sleeves as soon as possible. In spite of the recent BTS appeal for O-positive blood, the inventory of O-positive blood remains low due to the high demand from hospitals. In order not to affect the normal supply of this blood type, BTS needs to collect O-positive blood from an additional 100 donors daily in the coming week to replenish inventories.
