Nine building plans approved in November

     The Buildings Department approved nine building plans in November, with five on Hong Kong Island, two in Kowloon and two in the New Territories.

     Of the approved plans, three were for apartment and apartment/commercial developments, four were for commercial developments and two were for community services developments.

     In the same month, consent was given for work to start on 15 building projects that, when completed, will provide 148,617 square metres of gross floor area for domestic use, involving 1,205 units, and 97,856 square metres of gross floor area for non-domestic use. The department has received notification of commencement of work for five building projects.

     The department also issued seven occupation permits, with three on Hong Kong Island and four in Kowloon.

     Of the buildings certified for occupation, the gross floor area for domestic use was 41,601 square metres, involving 558 units, and 49,938 square metres was for non-domestic use.

     The declared cost of new buildings completed in November totalled about $1.9 billion.

     In addition, 14 demolition consents involving 14 building structures were issued.

     The department received 3,532 reports about unauthorised building works in November, and issued 988 removal orders on unauthorised works.
