The Highways Department today (January 3) invited tenders for the "Provision of Barrier-free Access Facilities for Highway Structures – Phase 2 Contract 2" (Contract No. HY/2013/16).
The works are expected to commence in March this year and will take about 24 months to complete. The works will mainly comprise:
* construction of eight lifts for four existing footbridges and an existing subway at three locations in Wan Chai and North District; and
* civil works, geotechnical works, electrical and mechanical works, site investigation works, modification works for existing structures, road and drainage works and landscaping works associated with the works above.
Tender submissions should be placed in the Government Secretariat Tender Box located at the lobby of the public entrance on the Ground Floor, East Wing, Central Government Offices, 2 Tim Mei Avenue, Tamar, Hong Kong. Submission of tenders will be closed at noon on February 14, 2014 (Friday).
The Major Works Project Management Office of the Highways Department has appointed Mott MacDonald Hong Kong Limited to design and supervise the construction works. Interested contractors can obtain the tender forms and other particulars from the office of Mott MacDonald Hong Kong Limited at 20/F, AIA Kowloon Tower, Landmark East, 100 How Ming Street, Kwun Tong, Kowloon.
