Correctional Services officers stopped an assault by a person in custody on another person in Tai Lam Correctional Institution this afternoon (January 2).
At about 3pm, a 33-year-old male person in custody suddenly attacked another male person in custody, aged 31, with fist in a shower room. The officers immediately stopped the assault and separated them.
Both the victim and the assailant were examined and treated in the centre hospital. The victim sustained injury on the face and was transferred to a public hospital for further examination while the assailant sustained minor hand injury.
The case has been reported to the Police.
The assailant was serving sentence for an offence of trafficking in dangerous drugs and the victim for an offence of theft.
