The Water Supplies Department (WSD) today (Jannary 1) announced that owing to a water main of 450mm in diameter burst at 79 Pok Fu Lam Road Near Hong Kong University Haking Wong Building, the fresh water supply to all premises in Western Island area suspended at 5.30pm today.
The suspension will affect all premises in the area bounded by Western Island area.
Repair work is being urgently carried out and normal supply is expected to resume at 10pm tonight.
Meanwhile, the WSD will deploy water wagons and water tanks to the affected area in order to provide temporary water supply to the affected residents. (For details, please visit the web site of WSD at www.wsd.gov.hk)
