Police today (December 31) appealed to the public for information on a fatal traffic accident in Chai Wan on December 27 in which an 88-year-old woman died.
About 9.24am on that day, a medium goods vehicle (MGV) driven by a 34-year-old man was travelling along Kam Yuen Lane. When approaching the junction of Kam Yuen Lane and Chai Wan Road, it reportedly knocked down the 88-year-old woman who was crossing the road.
Sustaining head injuries, the woman was rushed to Eastern Hospital where she was certified dead at 4pm on December 29.
Active investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Hong Kong Island are underway.
