**********************************************************

A new phase of the Arts Corner will be launched at Hong Kong Park tomorrow (January 1, 2014). Managed by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD), various interesting handicrafts and arts services stalls will be put up for public visit for free.

With an aim to enhance public interest in arts and enrich the arts atmosphere in Hong Kong, the Arts Corner will also make the park an even more appealing and enjoyable place for visitors.

Starting from tomorrow and continuing until December 31, 2014, the Arts Corner, which comprises 10 handicrafts and arts services stalls, will open between noon and 6pm on Saturdays, Sundays and during the public holidays. The corner is situated in the outdoor area next to the Flagstaff House Museum of Tea Ware inside the park.

In addition to displaying and selling various kinds of handicrafts and artistic works such as crystals, brooches, ornaments, crystal paintings, handicraft pictures, paper craftworks, cloth artworks and soap crafts, cultural and arts services such as painting, calligraphy, silhouette cutting, sketching and caricature will also be available at the corner.

Members of the public can select their favourite handicrafts or artworks to suit their own interests.

An LCSD spokesman said, "This is the 14th phase of the Arts Corner at the Hong Kong Park since its first launch in 2002. The event was well received in the past years. Besides stopping at the Arts Corner, park-goers can also visit other park facilities and spend a pleasant time there."
